I was asked the other day about the fires burning in New York City on September 11 and after. I remember never seeing any flames after the huge explosion on the top of the North Tower before it was destroyed.
So I went back to my tape archive of the day and pulled some clips. Sure enough there is plenty of night footage and even the next days. I decided to release some of the clips and edited them together with a couple songs.
The resultant video shows that my recollection was correct. There were no visible fires and the city was dark except for the emergency lighting. Even that lighting strangely enough did not show any vapor or smoke in the air and from 2 miles away I was able to get clear pictures of the emergency lighting for the cleanup of the murder scene, which started before the sun rose the next day.
