Spy Bill Left For Summer Over Immunity For Telecom Crimes

Evil Will Find A Way When Responsibility Is Taken By Someone in Authority

It is a stunner as the Senate decided to test the waters at home this summer rather than incur the rancor of locals over immunity for crimes by telecommunication companies and the president.

The bill, which passed the Democratic controlled House, now grants the immunity to the telecoms in exchange for continued financial support through the elections. The bill also grants any agents of the government the right to spy on Americans as long as they let the courts know in a week or two after. That means spying any way possible including your email, phone calls, mobile number and microphones in your home, office or play spaces. All with no court order and instigated by any agent of the government without the need for any orders or oversight. Just a whim.

But that is not all; the mass media is manipulating the masses to allow crimes to go unpunished. In fact mass media wants a continuation of the kind of criminal activity that strips people of their rights and their wealth, like Enron. Environments where evil is paid off generously. Environments where agents of the government are asked to do illegal acts under the false assurances that everything is legal. Like Adolph Eichman and many other Nazi authorities the phone companies are claiming that the government told them that it was okay and legal so they did what they were told.

The world has told the companies and individuals that you cannot hide behind such lies and fallacies. Encouraging the private sector to capitulate to every demand made by government with the candy cane of immunity for those actions is wrong in every way.

The Washington Post wants you to read it another way “The Senate is dragging its feet because the compromise bill's opponents -- mostly Democrats -- want also to punish the telecommunications companies that answered President Bush's order for help with his illegal, warrant less wiretapping program.”

Of course it was illegal and the phone companies thought they would do illegal acts for the president because he promised them it was legal. This is the same logic that Enron executives used to rape the California economy and their own employees. It has to stop. It is wrong and AT&T, Verizon, and the rest have to pay the price.

This video shows a government study to find why evil can be had from anyone when responsibility is taken by someone who seems to be an "authority". This is wrong. It cannot be rewarded.

The least funny thing about the mass media and the television is how they are pressing for the forgiveness based on the fact that other private companies will not be complicit in illegal acts if they are found liable for them. From Washington Post this is not just given life but endorsed as the only way to go. “Proponents are right too in seeking to ensure the continued cooperation of the telecommunications industry in the war on terrorism." So the only reason to back this is to insure that the phone companies continue to capitulate and commit any crime knowing they have immunity from the law like the example in the video?

But better (or worse depending on your point of view) the mass media would like you all to put the blame on the outgoing Bush, where it belongs, but where no one gets punished for the crimes. It really belongs to those who pull the trigger, the Telecommunication companies, as well as those who give orders. If the mass media (who hid the very story of illegal spying for over a year by request of the president) can move this off to the Bush side, make him responsible, then no one gets punished. Everyone gets a paycheck except Americans who are getting it up the back end again. Once blame is pushed on Bush and the administration their sovereign immunity (our government is above the law) as well as the fact that Democrats will never pursue the actions needed to prosecute crimes of George Bush, lest their own crimes get the same treatment. It is a pork-belly summer of love in DC again and there is no change in site.
