Bush Signs Domestic Spy Bill Obama Gives Thumbs Up

It was more than disappointing when the presidential hopeful Barack Obama confirmed his change in direction voting yes on the Telecom immunity bill. The ACLU and most Americans are severely shocked at this caviler vote and the construct used to give up on holding the Telecoms or Bush accountable for high crimes of illegal spying on Americans. Obama has denied the rights of those abused by the criminal actions of Verizon, AT&T and other telecoms in exchange for a vast war chest to fund the coming elections.

Congress often uses the limited summer sessions and Christmas sessions to pass unsavory laws because majorities are easier to achieve when most members are not there. The laws are passed by majorities present not necessarily by the majority of the Congress. This law was not to be passed with immunity for criminal acts as promised by Obama and the Democrats. We have been lied to again will you forgive again? How many times does a beaten woman subject herself before she does something about it?

This bill makes legal the illegal, unwarranted spying on anyone in the USA for any reason and only asks that the government tell the court in a week (that is 7 working days or 10 real days) to get the proper authority. In other words, they can screw you for 10 days and tell no one collecting what they want or need or will use in the future to secure your cooperation in any matter that concerns them. There are no more safeguards in this law than the original FISA. As we can easily see FISA did not stop the president or private enterprise from engaging in illegal spying so what makes anyone think this piece of paper will do anything else? Specially after giving the previous criminals full immunity for any crimes they commit?

What Obama did was to claim his financial benefit by providing amnesty and immunity to the telecom companies.

This government is fraud and a sham. Restore the Republic.
