In the early 60’s no one would have believed that the very core freedom of Americans would be willingly lost to them. The foundation of the Republic for which Americans stood for would be whittled away to nothing as the government’s definition of freedom would take on the meaning of capitulation for the common good – a communist goal.

When Americans first stood for freedom it was to free them of being stopped for no reason, searched without cause, incarcerated without charge, and to ensure that Americans could freely travel without restrictions or need of state issued papers for moving about peacefully. Today all this is lost and the very basis for the revolution against monarchy and tyrannical governments along with the bloodshed by the original patriots has been freely given up. We are back to where we started, even to the point of fake currency replacing real money.

The random stop has replaced just cause and the demand to carry identification has replaced the freedom to travel about peacefully unmolested. No longer do law enforcers need to have a reason to stop people, they can just do it at will. Random stops are now something governments have trained their subjects to pride in. No one is stopped because they acted suspicious; they are stopped randomly, often just by the luck of being in the wrong place at the wrong time. Government used the law enforcements profiling as a reason to equalize the searches, giving up profiling for random picks. No longer are law enforcers allowed to stop strangers in their neighborhoods unless it is at a random roadblock.

Nothing points up the loss of freedom than the fact that one must obtain a “non-driver license” to move about. What a nightmare! Paying taxed earnings for permission from the government to not drive. This should be enough to get any freedom loving human in complete revolt. To add insult to injury every human must have a license from the government to drive or not drive, or face arrest without cause and incarceration without due process.

What is the non-drivers license? Well, a license is permission. So a non-drivers license is a government grant to not drive. One might want to contemplate how complacent Americans now rush to government offices to pay a fee, buy a picture, give personal data to the government so as not to drive. All this is just to walk the streets in public peacefully. Now when a law enforcer stops to ask for your papers even peaceful pedestrians will show their government permissions to walk the streets. Those Americans who do not comply with the government demand to pay for a license to walk will be arrested and held indefinitely. How free can you be?
