The EU federal government is obscuring your future with manipulative taxes and tariffs. In typical hypocritical attitude most EU members are more concerned with continued national protections than any fair or better world. Increased taxes on renewable fuels are working within established OPEC/Royal dictates against any benefit to the people
Imagine your automobile’s fuel costs plummeting, your environment cleaner, and your dependency on oil diminished?
Your “governments”, the un-elected officials of the EU, are blocking this reality that could be today. That is what is happening today. With the possibility of fueling your vehicles on inexpensive and renewable bio-fuels put off until enough study can be done to see if they can do it themselves.
Leading the push to keep bio-fuels from landing on EU shores from South America is France, who is once again protecting French farmers right to produce these fuels. They do not, and they cannot produce enough to be competitive much less self-sufficient yet would still rather rely on the conquests in the Middle-East than get the rewards right now available to everyone. This is politics over people and rulers have not changed in history.
Their skint reasoning claims they fear losing control of subjects and “security” if there is dependency on fuel from South America. Somehow this is less palatable than dependency on the recently invaded Middle East fuels? I am neither in agreement with this assessment nor of the tariffs applied to bio-fuel to make it more expensive at the pump than imported OPEC fuels. It is a tax applied that enriches the rulers at the expense of the environment and the people. Enriching the government and royal coffers as well as the established oil cartels while depriving the Europeans of inexpensive bio-fuel and South America an agricultural export.
"Our aim must be to develop an EU biofuels policy which meets our objective on security of supply and climate change, while ensuring sustainable development," said European Commission president Jose Manuel Barroso.
Politicians have a unique way of putting things.
