In the last weeks the government of Texas has affirmed its right to control the private lives of families as well as individuals. In its latest affront to freedom in the Republic of Texas the courts, in the case of a private religious community, have taken away 400 children from their mothers. As these mothers were carted away in state buses they held signs pleading for help. It was a mad scene only duplicated from the past Nazi separation of Jewish children from their parents.
The questions presented by the state of Texas interfering in a private religious community are striking a blow against freedom in our land. America has few real families left. Most families in the USA have multiple co-mothers and co-fathers. From one viewpoint you can ask why any USA citizen may have as many children as he wants with as many woman as he wants without any problem. If they should affirm them as commitments, marriages, they will be prosecuted. This is problematic and shows the state is stepping into the private affairs of families.
There is a lot of problems with the facts. The state claims a girl in the religious compound called and made serious claims. That call came from a known prank caller from Colorado! The anonymous girl was never found at the religious compound, tapes of the 911 call never shown, in fact the whole call and claims are spurious yet the whole legal system of Texas is out to prosecute this one religious cult. If cults are to be treated this way then why have the authorities not closed down the Catholic cult for its constant abuse of little boys and removed all Catholic children from their mothers for allowing that abuse?
Of course the real question is who owns you? Who tells you what to do, think, feel and act? Who tells you what you can read, learn, love or hate? Who tells you which groups or thoughts you can have and which are not acceptable? Who is the arbiter of subjective decisions like that in a free country? Who can take your children away because they do not like how you live, think or work? What is freedom then? Is freedom really the ability to choose from only a select group of ideas, lifestyles, cults and restrict or make illegal all else? It is your freedom of choice to choose the idiocy or not of your own cult and way of life.
If you restrict any individual or family are they still free? If you have to pay is it free? If you can choose anything from a list of 2 things are you free? Can free have restrictions and costs and still be called free?
