Islamic Nuclear Proliferation Does Not Stun West

The latest disclosures of Pakistans Khan network, which has been busy proliferating Islamic nuclear weapons, has set in motion a lot of action and words but not at Pakistan or Khan.

The whole theme centers in Pakistan, a nuclear power, spreading the ability and information to make any kind of nuclear weapon they want. This includes one small enough to put in the basement of a huge building and dustify it in a few seconds.

The story in USA Today covers the events but has a strange conclusion, as I will explain. The story revolves around Abdul Qadeer Khan, the father of Pakistanis atomic bombs. In 2004 Khan proudly explained that he shared his knowledge and abilities to make nukes with a huge ring of profiteers who sold the technology to other including Korea, Iran and Libya. The article is fairly detailed and linked well.

Yet while encouraging pressure to interrogate the lofty and protected Khan is nice USA Today prefers to take an article about Pakistan proliferation and turn it around to rally the war cry against Iran. Stunning. So Pakistan, the rogue nation selling secrets to the axis of evil is off the screen and we should now concentrate on where Pakistan sold their nuclear products and information to use them?

The article then ignores the source and goes on to explain how we now have to watch Iran and stop its enrichment. Why? They can buy what they want from Pakistan? Why not stop Pakistan from proliferating the knowledge and materials to make the bombs? The real deal is that Pakistan is an Islamic regime, a military dictatorship actually with a national caste system still in place and has nuclear arms. India also has them. What makes Iran any more insane than these nations? Iran never attacked any of these nations and in fact is very friendly and exported oil to them for many decades.

The powers are obscuring the fact that the Islamic and radical regimes have the access and ability to do what they want through Pakistan yet we do not put Pakistan as the axis of evil because they are our friends? Selling secrets to what we claim are enemies? Then to be antagonizing the Iranians by claiming they do not have the right to have what others have and are selling them is pompous and wrong. Iran is now surrounded by western troops whose leaders have announced that they would have no problems attacking Iran with a pre-emptive nuclear strike. What the hell is Iran supposed to do? Roll on it’s belly and whine? Is that what you would do as strangers send their armies 12,000 miles from their borders to surround you with threats? Or would you at least try to have the same bombs that they do? Who are we kidding here? Leave the people alone and they will be just fine without kneeling to our Gods.
